Lara is a Registered Professional Counsellor Candidate, having completed her Master of Arts in Counselling at Providence Theological Seminary. She has DBT training, as well as various crisis and trauma trainings. Lara works primarily with individuals 16+ and specializes in the art of breaking through stress, anxiety, and burnout. She is passionate about helping individuals find balance, empowerment, and peace of mind through the therapeutic process. Trauma and crisis are multi-faceted and not everyone responds to the same approach to counselling. For that reason, Lara uses a mixed bag of approaches. Whatever the approach, she believes that psychoeducation and homework are crucial to the healing process, not only to bring awareness to the areas where change and growth are needed, but also as a way for the client to apply long-standing change in between sessions, and in their daily life. Resources and tools are utilized to empower the client to move through any barriers that may get in the way of the therapeutic process. She also loves to integrate art and creative therapy approaches into her sessions.
