OEI is effective for processing and resolving PTSD, psychological trauma, addictions & eating disorders, providing relief from anxiety, panic, anger, grief. and other intense emotions.
It rapidly de-escalates affective and somatic intensity, and improves relationships (couples, families, groups), and performance - artistic, athletic, professional.
EMDR is a psychotherapy technique used to relieve psychological stress. It is an effective treatment for trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), as well as anxiety, panic, depression, eating disorders & addictions. EMDR
utilizes the motion of the eyes with therapeutic guidance to bring about emotional (and sometimes physical) healing, at an accelerated rate.
Lifespan Integration is a gentle trauma treatment method which works on a deep neural level to change patterned responses and outmoded defensive strategies. By connecting physiological reactions to past events, the neural system is ‘re-set’ so that it is more in line with the current life situation. This ‘re-setting’ happens very rapidly for most people. After LI therapy, people find themselves spontaneously reacting to current stressors in more age appropriate ways.
All of our staff practice from a trauma-informed perspective. This means you can rest assured that your therapist is aware of the significant impact trauma has on the brain and can have in your day-to-day life. Your treatment plan will take that awareness of trauma into account.
Most of our clinicians practice some form of active trauma treatment. This is a specific tool or set of tools to directly address and deactivate trauma reactions in your brain. Some of our clinicians use EMDR, and some use OEI. Both practices are poly-vagal informed and evidence-based methods of decreasing reactivity and both are highly effective.
